Faith in Action: IPEKA Mission Trip to West Kalimantan

18 Jul 2026

What happens when faithful hearts say “yes” to God’s calling? Sometimes, the most meaningful impact begins not with extraordinary actions, but with a simple willingness to serve. This spirit became the heart of the IPEKA Mission Trip to Anjongan, West Kalimantan, where faith was expressed through compassion, fellowship, and meaningful acts of service.

As a Christian school, IPEKA believes that education extends beyond academic excellence. It is also about nurturing Christ-centered character, cultivating a heart for others, and encouraging individuals to live out their faith in everyday life. Through this mission trip to PPMT and SMTK Anjongan, the IPEKA community had the opportunity to share God’s love while learning the true meaning of faithfulness and servant leadership.

One of the meaningful activities was a series of teen retreats involving young people from Anjongan Village and surrounding communities. Through worship, reflection, and fellowship, participants were encouraged to deepen their understanding of God’s Word, strengthen their relationship with Christ, and discover how faith can guide their everyday decisions.

The mission also included teachers’ training and mentoring, creating opportunities for educators to exchange insights, strengthen their teaching practices, and encourage one another in their calling. These moments reflected the importance of supporting teachers, whose dedication plays a vital role in shaping future generations.

Beyond educational and spiritual activities, the team participated in food package distribution, extending practical care to members of the local community. Through these simple acts of kindness, the mission demonstrated that sharing Christ’s love is not limited to words, but can also be expressed through genuine concern for others.

Another meaningful highlight was the revival service centered on faithfulness, reminding participants that serving God is not measured by the size of our contributions, but by our willingness to respond to His calling. Every act of obedience, however small, can become an opportunity to bless others.

At IPEKA, the mission of Christian education is to prepare individuals who not only understand biblical values but also demonstrate them through their actions. This journey to West Kalimantan became a reminder that serving is more than what we do; it reflects who we are in Christ.

As the mission trip came to an end, the lessons of faithfulness, humility, and compassion continued beyond the journey. With grateful hearts, the IPEKA community celebrates every opportunity to serve and every life encountered along the way.

One mission. One calling. One heart to serve. Serving with our hands, loving with His heart.
