Teacher Sit In IPEKA x YPKT: When Teachers Learn Together

01 Oct 2026

What happens when teachers step into another classroom—not to teach, but to learn?

They gain new perspectives, discover different approaches, and find opportunities to reflect on their own teaching practices. This spirit of collaboration came to life through the Teacher Sit In IPEKA x YPKT. This initiative brought teachers from YPKT into IPEKA classrooms to observe, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

During the program, YPKT teachers observed classroom activities, teaching strategies, and interactions between teachers and students. Seeing learning unfold in a real classroom offered a closer look at how teachers deliver lessons, engage students, and create an environment that encourages participation and curiosity.

The experience also extended beyond academic learning. As a Christian school, IPEKA seeks to integrate a Christian worldview into everyday education. Through observing spiritual activities and engaging with the IPEKA community, visiting teachers had opportunities to see how faith and biblical values can become part of the school’s learning environment and daily experiences.

Observation was only one part of the journey. Through discussions with IPEKA mentor teachers, participants shared perspectives, asked questions, and reflected on the approaches they had witnessed. These conversations created space for professional dialogue, allowing teachers to consider new possibilities while recognizing that every classroom and school community has its own needs and strengths.

Teacher collaboration matters because education continues to evolve. Students have different ways of learning, classrooms present new challenges, and teaching practices benefit from ongoing reflection. When teachers are willing to learn from one another, they can broaden their understanding, exchange practical ideas, and discover approaches that may enrich their own classrooms.

The value of this experience lies not in simply replicating another school’s practices, but in identifying meaningful insights that can be adapted to different teaching contexts. Every observation, question, and conversation can become a starting point for improvement.

For IPEKA, the Teacher Sit-In reflects a commitment to continuous learning among educators. Developing teachers is an important part of creating meaningful learning experiences for students, because a community that encourages its teachers to grow also creates more opportunities for students to thrive.

Ultimately, professional growth does not happen in isolation. It is strengthened through openness, shared experiences, and a willingness to learn together.

One teacher learns. A community grows. And when educators grow together, the impact can reach every classroom they serve.
