Our History

IPEKA Christian School began from Rev. Dr. William Hosana’s deep concern for Christian families—a conviction that led to a vision for education that nurtures both faith and academic excellence.

On July 16, 1979, IPEKA opened its first kindergarten with 100 students and five dedicated teachers. Supported by the Synod of Gereja Kristus Yesus (formerly Gereja Kristus Jemaat Mangga Besar) in Jakarta, IPEKA has grown into a community of campuses across Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Palembang, Balikpapan, and Makassar, serving thousands of students through the dedication and care of its teachers and staff.

Philosophy of Christian Education

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” - Proverbs 1:7

IPEKA believes in a God-centered education rooted in His inspired and authoritative Word. Through the IPEKA Christian Education Curriculum (ICE-C), which is built upon the biblical foundation of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation (CFRC), students are guided to know Christ personally, grow in wisdom and character, and develop a Christian worldview. These four pillars shape a Christian perspective that is integrated into every subject and area of life, helping students learn, think, and live according to biblical values.
