The Covid-19 Pandemic with its widespread and rapid spread has had a very significant impact, including in the education area. This forced the government to close schools and encourage distance learning at home. Various initiatives were undertaken to ensure learning activities continued even without face-to-face contact.
In facing crisis situations, Home Learning is the solution for most schools or educational institutions, and technology is ofcourse widely used to support distance learning.
At IPEKA Christian School itself, IT Based Learning in the learning process is not a new thing, quoting the statement of Ibu Susanti as Director of Operations I in charge of IPEKA Education Development Division regarding the transition process to home learning "IPEKA uses 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏 designed with all the features of the google suite for education and digital assessment and has started using IT Based Learning in the learning process and has made all preparations for entering IT Based Learning since July 2019.”
In connection with the implementation of IT Based Learning in all IPEKA Christian School locations and facilitating distance learning so that it can run optimally, IPEKA Christian School held a Level 1 Google Bootcamp Training which aims to improve skills and train teachers' fluency in using the google apps feature for education.
In collaboration with REFO Indonesia, this intensive google bootcamp training was accompanied by Steven Sutrantro as a Google Certified Trainer for REFO Indonesia. Through this activity, teachers are assisted intensively to train fluency using Google Apps for education features such as Google Docs, classrooms, Gmail, Google Sites, Calendar, Forms, Chrome, Drive, google meet and others.
