IPEKA Palembang Christian School inaugurated a new building on Monday, November 18, 2024, to improve teaching and learning facilities by providing up-to-date educational facilities. Located on Jalan Residen Abdul Rozak, Palembang city, the five-story building is equipped with various modern facilities that support the needs of quality education. The construction of this new building began with prayers on November 1, 2023, followed by a topping off procession on June 19, 2024.
The inauguration of the new building was marked by a ribbon-cutting procession carried out by the Chairman of the GKY Synod, Rev. Yohanes Adrie Hartopo, Chairman of IPEKA Foundation, Erwin Tenggono, Chairman of the GKY Synod Foundation Management Division, Cornelius Husin, GKY Palembang Pastor, Rev. Surja Sudipan, and GKY Palembang Assembly Chairman, Pnt. Nanik Listijani Sigit.
Head of School IPEKA Palembang, Ling Er revealed that IPEKA Palembang Christian School received a positive response from the community in various admission activities. “Parents are now increasingly realizing the importance of education that does not only focus on academics, but also on character building and spiritual development,” said Ling Er.

The use of the new building is specifically for teaching and learning activities at the kindergarten and elementary levels of IPEKA Palembang. The classrooms in the new building are more spacious so that the children feel comfortable and the teaching and learning process can run conducively. The facilities available include Nursery Room, Common Place, Indoor Gym, Indoor Playground, and Reading Space. Meanwhile, there is also a computer lab, main hall, and badminton court, which can be used by all students at various levels.
“We hope that, through this new building and facilities, IPEKA Palembang can provide a better learning experience. We want to provide a place for students to grow into smart individuals, ready to face future challenges, and bring positive changes in the community. More than that, we hope IPEKA Palembang can continue to be a blessing to the community in Palembang city,” said Ling Er.
As an international standard school, IPEKA Palembang Christian School uses the curriculum developed by IPEKA, namely the IPEKA Christian Education (ICE) Curriculum. This curriculum integrates faith and science, i.e., a Biblical worldview with the Pearson Edexcel curriculum and the National Curriculum.
