At first, they were unsure. Trying to become who others expected them to be, many walked into this experience carrying questions about identity, belonging, and purpose. But in a Christian school environment, learning goes beyond academics—it becomes a journey of transformation.
Through the theme “The New Me,” this retreat was designed to guide murid in discovering their true identity in God. Each session, from Unmask the Real Me to Light Up the Grid, invited them to reflect deeply on who they are and who they are called to be.
It was not just a series of activities, but a safe space where murid could open up, grow, and be strengthened.
They began to learn courage—courage to be themselves.
They discovered that they are wonderfully made, uniquely designed with purpose. In moments of vulnerability, they realized that imperfections are not something to hide, but part of a journey that God can use. Through Bless the Mess, they understood that even brokenness can lead to growth.
More importantly, they experienced the value of meaningful relationships. Surrounded by friends who build, not break, students found encouragement and support. They learned that they are not walking alone, and that true friendship reflects love, grace, and strength.
Then slowly, something changed. What they found was not just freedom, but a deeper understanding of God’s love—a love that accepts them as they are. This realization became the foundation for making better choices and living with confidence.
This retreat reflects the heart of a Christian school education: shaping not only knowledge, but also identity and character. Because in the end, education is not just about what murid achieve, but about who they become.
“The New Me” is more than a theme. It is the beginning of a new journey—one where students step forward with confidence, purpose, and a renewed understanding of who they are in God.
