In times of crisis, compassion becomes more than a value; it becomes action. As a Christian school community, IPEKA demonstrated the true meaning of love and solidarity through a meaningful donation movement for families affected by the disaster in Sumatra. With the belief that every act of kindness matters, the community came together to help those facing difficult circumstances.
Parents, students, teachers, and community members collected Rp503,279,760 to support families affected by the Sumatra disaster. This initiative showed that Christian education nurtures compassion alongside academic and personal growth. The act of giving became a powerful reminder that even small contributions, when united, can create a significant impact for those experiencing hardship.
The donation movement reflected the biblical teaching, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). Students and families practiced empathy through real and meaningful action. The initiative reminded affected families that they were not alone in recovery.
For students, this experience became a living lesson in character building. They learned that education includes caring for others beyond classrooms and textbooks. Students saw how faith can become tangible actions that bless others.
