IPEKA BSD Student Wins Gold Medal at International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2020

The Indonesian flag is flying again at an international education event, This time in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2020.  Two gold medals, two bronze medals, and two Honourable Mentions were successfully brought home.

Praise the Lord, one IMO 2020 gold medal was won by our student, Stanve Avrilium Widjaja, from IPEKA BSD Senior High School. The accomplishment placed Stanve in 1st position among the Indonesian team, and 22th position for IMO world rank. He was competing with more than 600 participating students from  various countries.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) itself is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country.  This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 61st International Mathematical Olympiad which was supposed to take place in St. Petersburg, Russia has been moved online.
