IPEKA Tomang Senior High School Selected for PISA

IPEKA Tomang Senior High School has been selected to participate in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)—a global study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that evaluates education systems in countries worldwide.

Unlike traditional exams, PISA focuses on assessing critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to apply knowledge to real-life situations. The test is designed for 15-year-old students and evaluates three core areas:

What Does PISA Measure?

  1. Reading Literacy – Understanding, using, evaluating, and reflecting on various types of texts.

  2. Mathematics Literacy – Applying mathematical concepts to everyday situations.

  3. Science Literacy – Forming hypotheses, analyzing data, and thinking logically.

A Meaningful Opportunity for IPEKA

For IPEKA Christian School, participating in PISA is a valuable opportunity. Above all, it allows the school to evaluate and strengthen the quality of its education. The results offer an objective picture of how well students will face the challenges of a fast-changing world.

Preparing for the Future Starts Now

In today’s digital era, memorization alone is not enough. Firstly, students must learn how to analyze information, make wise decisions, and adapt to new situations. PISA plays a vital role in measuring and fostering these skills early on.

Through this international assessment, IPEKA gains more than just global benchmarking. The school also receives insights into its strengths and areas that need improvement. Above all, these findings can help shape future updates to the curriculum, teaching methods, and learning strategies.

Empowering Students Beyond the Classroom

This experience also encourages students to build confidence, stay open-minded, and prepare for real-world challenges. IPEKA believes that holistic education—rooted in Christian values—is not only about academics. It is also about shaping character, integrity, and life readiness.

A Commitment to Future Leaders

As a Christian school dedicated to both academic excellence and character growth, IPEKA’s involvement in PISA reflects its vision. The goal is clear: to equip the next generation to become capable, impactful future leaders.
