The age of children growing up is the age where a person should be formed with the right basic patterns and values in order to produce a good personality at the turning point or the search for identity, including spiritual growth. However, it is undeniable that a prolonged pandemic has made these junior high school-aged teenagers lacking in the formation that suits their needs to grow in their relationship with God, themselves, and others.
This time's retreat carries the theme "GROWING", where this theme is expected to help junior high school students at IPEKA Christian School learn to understand what is important in the formation of their personality and can show good growth in relationships with God, themselves, and others.
In this retreat, the students attended a presentation session on material about growing in their relationship with God, themselves, and others, then continued with group discussions assisted by group facilitators (recognizing their strengths and weaknesses) and a Games session. In addition, students also participated in a KKR session where at the end of the session, students were invited to write a commitment card.
There is also a reflection session in this retreat, the aim of which is to invite students to realize:
- God cares about us and our problems, that's why God sacrificed Himself to save us
- God works in our lives, blesses us, and guides us through our problems
- This is the time for students to grow - grow, leave all bad habits and become better people and obey God
Hopefully, this retreat can help IPEKA Junior High students become individuals who grow and have close relationships with God, themselves, and others.
